-- A New Mexico family is trying to raise money so they can see their son compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Last month Joey Hagerty was named to the men's Olympic gymnastics team following his performance at the Olympic trials. The Rio Rancho native and La Cueva High graduate will leave next month to China. His parents and one of his sisters are going too, despite the price to get there. The family says the trip will cost over $30,000.

The RedBrick Pizza restaurant at San Pedro and Paseo Del Norte has agreed to help get the Hagerty's to China. The restaurant will be donating a percentage of Wednesday night's sales to the family. The family is also accepting donations at any Wells Fargo Bank.

-- RedBrick Pizza Worldwide and its participating franchises throughout North America and Canada are sponsoring a nationwide "Go Red" Charity Cafe(TM) campaign this summer to help raise awareness and reduce the occurrence of heart disease and strokes.

Starting June 15 and running through September 15, 2008, a portion of all RedBrick sales on Tuesdays will be donated to the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign.

"Heart problems are perceived of as a man's ailment," said Lynn Minidis, co-founder of RedBrick Pizza Worldwide. "The fact is that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the U.S. today. Yet a few simple steps can help reduce risks and improve your lifestyle."

"By simply enjoying a delicious fire-roasted gourmet pizza at RedBrick Pizza Cafe on Tuesdays this summer, our loyal patrons will be helping to reduce heart disease in two ways," noted Minidis. "First is the contribution we will make to the Heart Association, but just as important, they'll be enjoying a heart-healthy meal that, along with daily exercise and lifestyle changes, can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. To Assist Families Of Wounded Vets

-- RedBrick Pizza Worldwide and its franchisees have partnered with Operation Helping Hands to raise funds to assist the families of wounded war veterans during the holiday season.

Beginning Oct. 1 and running through Dec. 31, 2007, a portion of all sales on Tuesday nights from participating locations will be donated to Operation Helping Hands.

Operation Helping Hands is a program sponsored by the Military Officers Association of America that provides support to the families of war veterans recuperating at the VA's Tampa Medical Center. Some of the most severely injured soldiers are sent to Tampa to recover from spinal and head, amputations and other traumatic injuries. RedBrick Pizza Worldwide and its franchisees war veterans during the holiday season.
